'Rasin'

Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen's sculpture Typewriter Eraser, Scale X is a popular work at the Olympic Sculpture Park. Whenever I see it on the hillside, it makes me smile to think of it careening down at breakneck speed, smudging out anything in its path. It would be fun to animate this. The grasses and wildflowers have grown in now to create a lush and colorful carpet.

Nice picture. I have never seen an eraser this large before but I do remember them in real life.

I had assumed the company who made them went out of business.

I remember these handy little things! Glad that is all in the past!

ha! jThis is the sculpture that the art museum had originally labeled as "no photography allowed". I think they've now covered that prohibition with a piece of duct tape.
