Shaun Gone

One of Seattle's favorite and most celebrated Seahawks has been cut from the team and will be moving on to new horizons. Everyone wishes it wasn't so. Running back Shaun Alexander has had an awesome NFL career here at Quest Field, marred in recent years by injuries. He's given back a lot personally to Seattle and is one of those rare sports figures mom's actually feel good about their kids wanting to emulate, (unlike one of his teammates who is also in the news facing charges right now for allegedly striking his girlfriend in public). Wishing "happy trails" to #37.

Hate to hear that! Shaun was an Alabama Crimson Tide standout.

I love your photograph. I thought the Seahawks stadium was a bridge on the portal. What a surprise.

Shaun will truly be missed! Great photo today! I agree about Shaun, he was one of those players I would put in the same category as Brett Favre as a great athlete who gave back to his community. Any team would be lucky to have him. I wish him all the best!

I live in LA but am from Seattle originally, and I get more and more homesick every day - your photos remind me that Seattle really is the most amazing city in the US. Thanks so much!

Wonderful photo, and too bad about your running back. Hate it when the good ones get cut.

I don't agree. I believe his leaving is the best thing the Seahawks could have done. As a season ticket holder, I'm tired of seeing him just "fall down" with the ball. I know he's done much in the community and I appreciate it.

There is no way I would put him in the same catagory as Brett.
