Metropolitan Street Style

Red Suede Platforms

Two scooter riders were waiting for the light. This red and white Metropolitan was halfway through its turn before I noticed the rider's distinctive style choices: red suede ankle strap platform heels, vintage brown barkcloth tiki print dress with inverted pleats, up-to-the-minute spring green knit 3/4 sleeve cardigan, knit striped scarf, black leather gloves with red lace detail, all topped by a black helmet.

Excellent capture! It fits right in with Bibi's shot at "A Yankee in Belgrade"!

That is hot. Love how one very heeled foot is dangled just off the scooter, as if in a tight turn she would brush the ground with it to keep herself steady?

Ooh, I like this one. You have a keen eye for fashion!

Oh, way to go, Kim! What a chic chick. Very classy ensemble, motorscooter included. Looks like she's just driven it off the showroom floor.

Style is obviously more important than safety for this rider. Cool image ... scary thought, though. I wish her well.

I noticed you caught her before her foot even hit the ground. Now that is perfect timing.

So Stylish! Love the gloves and the fact that there is a little mesh compartiment on the scooter to store your essentials. I'm guessing lipstick and suncream.

LOL, you have an eye for detail. All I got was here shoes matched the scooter.

Kim: This is one of my absolute favorites. I'm working up a post on scooters for Living Small; could I use your photo in the post (with ample credit and links, of course!)?

Again, beautiful work. Keep it coming!

Kim, I'm as much amazed by your fashion review as your photo! Do you think the scooter dealer hired her to drive around town?

Another brilliant image. I'm left with a little mystery here not being able to see her face. Nice fashion writing too! Cheers...

This is a stunner. Just adore her straight back, those shoes, that outfit. She could be Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Love it.
