You would think with a huge bright mural like this covering one side of its building that the Sugar Shack Baking Co. in the Maple Leaf neighborhood would be fairly easy to find, and you would be right if you were traveling south on Lake City Way! From other vantage points, however, it's easy to miss. It's a great stop for morning coffee beverages and heavenly scones, for a made to order sandwich or quiche at lunch, or a from-scratch yummy cookie with the kids in the afternoon. I didn't asked about the mural and haven't found anything published about it, so if you know who the artist is or anything about the fugures, let me know. Certainly brightens up the street scene! I am having so much fun travelling from cafe to cafe tasting here, nibbling there. Yummy. Nice series. MB
What a great capture!!
Hi Kim,
That is a cool mural. I’ll keep the place in mind for a morning coffee with a scone next time I’m down that way.
To answer your question; yes Terra Nova sold and I think she is now in Lake Union having some work done on her before she heads to Portland, OR.
Thanks for you visits to my blog and all your kind words. I do very much enjoy swinging by to see your excellent photos.
Take care,
Gosh this is one of the most startling and beautiful murals I have seen in ages. Your photo did much to enhance it by letting the outside things go.
It is really nice to see.
Abraham Lincoln
Brookville, Ohio happened naturally.
Murals as artisically painted as this re a real pleasure to view in a relatively grey landscape. Vibrant photo and loved your descriptive text of heavenly scones.
mmm that place sounds great. too bad it's so far away!
the mural is fantastic!
Great picture. The mural is beautiful, but there's something about trees with faces that still wigs me out.:)
Oh, the colors in this make me feel good. Beautiful mural and beautiful shot of it!
