He's eying you. Better scram. The Fremont Troll is always waiting for a tasty morsel to pass by overhead on the northern end of the Aurora Bridge (seen in last week's photo). He's already caught this old school VW Beetle, so perhaps you'll be safe for another moment. . .if you move along quickly. I've shown you the troll and its artist information before, but not for a few years. Bob of Saint Louis Daily Photo made a special request of this for Louis la Vache's Sunday Bridge Series where you can find all participants' bridge photos.

Yikes! I'm running back home now!
I'm staying!
That would have terrified me when I was a child...I would have had so many nightmares about this guy and trembled with the certainty of doom whenever I knew I had to pass over this bridge.
I love the Fremont troll. I visit him whenever in Seattle!
Now that's hilarious. How many kiddos has he scared the pants off of???

Love the Fremont Troll. I thought he was under the Fremont bridge. thanks for the pic of him. MB
A real live troll? OK, maybe not live, but it is REAL! This is fabulous. I LOVE it.
My bridge shot - much less exciting - is here:
Walking Trail
I didn't find this when I was in Seattle last time, but I hear it's a real landmark. Cute!!
Good one, Kim! «Louis» is laughing - but doesn't want to be next!
«Louis's» linked it!
I just happen to drive by Mr Troll yesterday as a matter of fact! I remember the first time I discovered him sitting under there. I had no idea he existed so you can imagine my shock at first!
Back in the 70's I had a little blue VW bug just like that one. Maybe it's mine? It did end up in a junk yard at one time. ;-)
Wow, what are the odds?? This is Friday's blog from A View from the Edge.
I remember that troll! it's been nearly 15 years since I lived in Seattle and got everywhere by bike, but you just don't forget Fremont! thanks for the memories, Madeleine (formerly assistant at the defunk Silver Image gallery downtown).
that is so cool! I love it.
YAY! And thank you! This is one of the delightful things to put on the Keep Seattle Weird poster. Great shot, too, really gets the atmosphere. I've taken terrible pictures of it when I've been out your way.
Fantastic shot. How the troll can be appeased?
I do love the troll, but for some reason we never get by there when we are in Seattle. I think that we need a dedicated trip to Seattle for the troll, waiting for the interurban, the sculpture park near the waterfront and a few other beauties. We actually want to take the Duck tour someday. Silly, I know.
When we lived lcose and the kids were little, the Ballard Locks were one of our favorite outings. There were a few others. I don't think the troll was there yet--at least, if he was, we hadn't found him.
He of course HAD to be part of the bridge series!
my...rather creepy.
