. . . should you decide to accept it. . . Do you know what this is? (Come on, without Googling it? ;^) ). If it is not a mystery to you, chances are you're familiar with orienteering, geochaching, or you're job has brought you into contact with them. If you can find the location of this object and can physically get there at at 9:00 AM this Saturday, June 12, you will find a treat waiting for you there. If you can't get there in person but can email me the specific location at seattledailyphoto@earthlink.net (please DO NOT answer in the comments section. . .no spoilers, please--we know you are very clever :-), then I'll send the first three people who email the correct answer a special Seattle postcard.

It's my iPhone Wednesday shot for you where I take and edit the image with an iPhone and available apps.

What a fun challenge. If I find myself with a few spare moments today I'll see if I can solve it.

I hope you got lots of answers via e-mail. I still haven't had a moment to investigate. Will you post the answer eventually? Re your question...when I posted that caption I was thinking about the raw and fickle weather (the imperfection of a June day)...and yet that very imperfect weather transformed the water and the foliage into something dazzling, something as close to natural perfection as I could ever hope to capture. Does this explanation make sense at all?

I have no idea what it even means though I have heard the words Geodetic Survey. The belt slips off my memory as I get older and have to deal with other things.

Interesting post, but I have no idea what it could be or where. Guess I'll have to walk to the junction and get my own cupcake! ;-D

Your banner photo is gorgeous!
