Lake Union Park: Under Development

South Lake Union Park: Under Development

It was fun to get this bird's eye view of the new waterfront park in the South Lake Union/Cascade neighborhood. Being married to a wooden boat lover, I've spent a lot of great family time at the adjacent Center for Wooden Boats. It looks like some of the park's hardscape includes boat shaped planters in the lawn areas (see full plan here). The new Safeco pedestrian bridge in the lower left of the photo leads to meandering park space along the Westlake shoreline. The Seattle Streetcar SLUT line stops at Lake Union Park, and I predict after the park receives its finishing touches in 2010 it will become well utilized for events and much appreciated by Seattlites.

The Seattle SLUT line brought a wide grin to my face. What a clever name that is and must be spoken of with love by those who appreciate the line itself. It looks like a neat place that you photographed and the full plan rendering is very nice.

Wow! That area around the Armory certainly looks different than it did last July when Amerivespa was held there. A great new park for us to enjoy! Thanks for the overview.

The SLUT line????!!!!

Inquiring minds want to know what (ahem) qualifications one must have (or not have as the case may be) in order to ride the SLUT line!

ROTFLMAO!!!!

SLUTS aside, very nice photo. "Louis" always enjoys the boats.

I love the Center for Wooden Boats! I'll have to remember to go this summer and check it (and the new park) out.
