Here you are at the counter of a University Village diner with nostalgic decor that harks back to the 40s and 50s. Chuck Berry is on the juke box, American fare is on the grill, the shake machine is whizzing: what's YOUR order? What's YOUR song? :-)

Fun! I didn't know there were any of those little juke box machines left!

I love diners like this....and I remember the real ones....and the jukeboxes, tabletop and regular.

Something by Paul Anka....? And a cheeseburger with pickle, lettuce, and ketchup on it, that's it. And a side of fries....and a root beer; don't like milk shakes....

This is a dangerous post to view before breakfast. I think I'll grab my coat, hat and gloves and head out to our local diner.

Super photo! Growing up on a farm, it was a real treat to stop for lunch in one of these diners. I remember hearing that Que Sera song.

my order is a large bacon cheese burger. And my song would have to be "the twist" by hank ballard.

OH GIrl! I can't even come up with a song. I have too many. I hope there's a cheeseburger all the way with fries waiting for me.

I was in the Northwest this summmer and skipped Seattle. Your blog makes me realize that I've got some long driving ahead of me. I've got to go back.

Love the addition of the hand stirring the shake. Nice touch.
