I Will Jump Stuff

Frankly, I think he was under charging for his abilities ;^). This sk8tr had a great idea and his jumps were super. How many of us wouldn't like to earn income while practicing what we love? I just paid him a buck for a photo op, though. He was disappointed that I didn't want to shoot him in action, and thinking on it now, that probably would have been a great idea. I liked his KEXP t-shirt and sign and wanted to capture what I saw as he passed me. Some of my Flickr friends (Hi Steffe!) are taking a challenge of making 100 portraits of strangers. It requires one to interview the person and include the info with the photo, though, so I'm hesitant to try it.

Oh I ssoooo need to jump in with you all on that one. I am in the same boat. Thanks to my friend Bob - St. Louis Daily Photo- who I think is the reigning king of great portraits, I am inching slowly in that direction.
Your skater friend is great. Love his expression! Keep it up and keep me posted on the portrait challenge.

Kim, your people shots are so FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't be effusive enough. Just love the way you capture people. I wish you would take up the portrait challenge just so we could all enjoy the results.

This kid is so great. I love his look of resignation. It's almost like one can tell he would rather be jumping than standing still for his picture to be taken.

I would give him a buck to jump over a banana peel.. That is modern slapstick in the making... law suit too:)

Your portraits are great. You should do it! One of my Flickr friend (hi Eamon!) is going for 200. I think he's a professional photographer though.

I'd have happily given him a buck. What a great idea. Hmmm...got to think of how to legally supplement my income when in Seattle this fall...

Great portrait, Kim.

Great photo of a unique entreprenuer. I only wish he was wearing a helmet. One student in my District, former athlete, now needs 24/7 care due to a skateboarding accident head injury.

I love it. Not just the photo, but the story it portrays. I'll think about it all day.

I absolutely love this picture! I think you've captured him marvelously, so don't worry about not shooting him in action. Yes, it is fortunate to make money to do what you love...I am one of those fortunate few, but I don't jump stuff. :o)
