This was the sky that greeted us in Seattle yesterday morning, heavy with a cloud front, but gorgeous when lit from underneath by Aurora's rosy fingers. It is my shot for this weeks Skywatch Friday. You can see hundreds of skies around the world today. Just take a look through the thumbnails for all the participants here.

Such a breathtaking sunrise. And it passes so quickly. How wonderful that we are able to capture such beauty with our cameras.

That is one beautiful sky! Happy Friday.
WOW! No words to describe that beautiful sight in the sky.
Gorgeous capture! We do have some of the most beautiful skies in the world here in Seattle, don't we? This one is glorious! Hope you have a great weekend!

Wow! What a way to start the day! The sky looks painted!
Isn't it nice to have windows to look through? Lovely morning, Kim!
What a magnificent sunrise. This would make me wake up early!
I really should start getting up earlier :-)
Thank you so much to each of you! And yes, Seattle skies are among the loveliest. I took this while out on a walk in my hilly neighborhood, and even so, very hard to find a vantage point without poles, wires, houses and trees becoming the subject instead of the sky. I did have a clear view of Mt. Rainier, but this color show did not spread under the thick low clouds in that direction, so it was majestic, but remained white and cold, unwarmed by dawn's rosy fingers. :-) And as the old adage goes, red sky in the morning, sailor's warning. . .we had rain later in the day.
