In warmer weather many people enjoy renting a kayak or canoe and paddling through these waters under freeway ramps near the Arboretum. . .but even the ducks weren't having any of this frozen scene in the Montlake neighborhood.

I had to look twice to make sure this wasn't a sidewalk, even after I read the description of what it is.
I don't blame the ducks for not being out in it, I wouldn't be either!
I'm not exactly certain why but the ice pattern makes me think of Holstein cows.
