Sometimes going down Seattle's streets I spot something so fun I have to stop and find a place to park and nab the shot. A lot of times that happens when I don't happen to have the camera with me. This time I did and can show you these Stella scooters with opposing color schemes. I suspect they belong to a couple, but never spied the owners. They appear to be new Stella's, one with white wall tires, a front rack and a shiny bumper sticker on both rear wheel covers, the other with fancy tire treads. I wonder if the owners bought one in avocado and one in tangerine and switched out the wheel covers and headlight panels themselves or if they can be purchased this way? If only this were a night shot, I could have titled it "Stellas by Starlight." :-)

Hey! Did you come to Molfetta to take this picture? It looks like a scene from around here...but the scooters would be Vespas!
These are sooo kyooot! I can't decide between the fancy tread and the whitewalls though. I'll bet they switched them out themselves.
You really hit the jackpot with these twins. I laughed when I saw them. I think it is the way to go. Imagine how many miles to a gallon they get.
All I know is the owners must be a lot of fun!
Glad you stopped and parked! Your deductions would be absolutely right in the swapping body parts department. I have friends who've done the same with their Vespas. The fun scooter couples can have!
I knew Chuck would have the answer. The more of these scooter shots I see the more tempting it's becoming to buy one.
Saretta, in my DREAMS I would be in Molfetta!
Elaine, your hunch is right!
Abe, and with you and Patty riding a pair like this it would be "smiles per gallon."
Virginia, I think you are right. It's great to see the whimsy they put out there for anyone at all to enjoy.
Chuck, thanks for letting us all know. I like your two toned white and blue classic, and I bet folks wanting to buy newly manufactured scooters wish they could have lots of color options. Have you seen those Metropolitans with even choices of pattern for the fenders? Scooter folks are creative folks, as well as fun. Our own Vespaboy bears that out!

And, Wayne, you know you want one. . .until the rains begin. We should ask Chuck how the winter's go and what sort of rain gear he wears.

I'd spend most of the winter polishing it. I'm more of a fair weather rider.
I have vivid recollections of riding motorcycles in freezing weather. And that was 40 years ago.
What would bother me most about riding in the rain would be the dreaded 'motorist'. I'd have on the brightest, eye-poppingest, rain suit you ever saw.
I have noticed more scooters parked on Seattle streets lately, more like Europe. Must be the gas prices.
How great that you had your camera to capture this photo! I've never seen this color combo on scooters; very classy. What fun to zip around Seattle on one of these!
I love this! I wonder if the owners dress this way too?
They are too cute and look like fun. MB
I must be getting old...I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "Stella Scooter"
All I know is the owners must be a lot of fun!
I agree with you all, these owners must be a lot of fun! And Maya, can you just imagine if they DID dress in a coordinated manner? What a hoot that would be!
And Nora, I got a quck education that one does not call all scooters "Vespas" like one might call all tissues "Kleenex." Oh, the scooter riders that come out of the woodwork to set you straight. I'm learning about all kinds of scooter brands :-). Luckily we have a resident scooter expert among us at CDPB to keep us in the know!

Outstanding! What a fun foto!
ohhh! I love them! what a catch :)

What a great catch! I'd love to go for a ride on one of those. A matching one for my hubby to ride would be even better! (Unless, of course, we could ride one together!) ;o)
