Coffee Colored Sky

Where else but Seattle? :-)
I'm not sure of the properties of light that create this appearance in an overcast night sky, but I have gotten this coffee brown color in cloudy or rainy night shots before. These colors are straight out of the camera with no alteration, and that's the top of the old WaMu building. Maybe it's less cappuccino colored and more Theo chocolate colored? Or is it Market Spice cinnamon tea colored? ;^)

It's all Starbucks fault, Kim. Love the photograph.

Cozy, cozy shot. I think it's more like cinnamon tea...

Chocolate. Definitely chocolate! Or, maybe chocolate and coffee! Nice shot!

Chocolate or coffee, I love both. And love your shot. I have not seen this color 'sky' before. Very nice.

Mocha sky! I have only gotten this color once but I think it's magical. I must not shoot at the right time of night. These evening shots are beautiful, Kim. I see you like prowling around in the dark like I do! :-)

It looked so natural that I didn't think about it until you mentioned it. I have a special place in my heart for "monochromatic" photos, especially those that fall within my favorite pallette of color. Tis one is so lush.

I've never seen a sky this color - it's fantastic! It goes very well with the images conjured up when one thinks of Seattle and coffee!!!

My thoughts on the colour...it's the grey of the overcast sky combined with the brown of pollution trapped by the clouds, exposed by the orange of the city lights. Tada! - Cinnamon Mocha Sky! (Sounds like a lovey and very "in" paint colour.)
