Theme Day: Night

Late Night Hunting

Here is an example of late night hunting. The guys out after a show elsewhere playing "buck hunter" on the Big Buck Machine at the back of The Sloop Tavern. I loved the colorful reflections on the ceiling from all the neon signs around the walls, and the sense of place the Space Needle Bud Light sign gave this. Our CDPB Theme Day for August is NIGHT, and you can enjoy seeing creative views and interpretations from wonderful cities around the globe today by clicking here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Hi Kim .. I first admired the color and the reflections of color .. but then there was more .. and your phrase "late night hunting" is perfect.

Cool, Kim. You always come up with a fun and unique slant. Hope you're enjoying our relatively cool weather -:) Happy August 1st!

This is a fascinating look into a way of life that is so alien to me, Kim. I like the words you have used: I know them all just not in that combination!! *grin*

The light on the cue cuts across the image in a most pleasing way.

Nice one Kim -- I had a shot of the Narrows Bridges just as the sun went down ready to go for today, but forgot about theme day and postponed it so I could feature yesterday's chalk the walk. Oops!

Love this, Kim. You've captured a night filled with testosterone. Amazing image for the theme, amazing image any time at all.

Hi Kim! I love the colors and the feeling of the scene. I have 2 little ones so I don't get to see much of this kind of scene so much anymore.

You've so captured the atmosphere of guys playing pool- and shooting, my goodness - so fabulously. So much to take in, colours, signs, the guys, a super photo and as always (I get bored saying it to you!) perfect.

Very cool. The man with the rifle in the background makes the shot. I didn't do a theme day photo. Planned to shoot an open refrigerator in a dark room with nothing in it but a bottle of Stolichnaya, a quart of Hagen Dasz and a jar of pickles but the sands ran out of my hourglass.

Thanks to each of you for leaving such great comments.

Anon., look to the right of the pool player's head for that sign you can't find.

Julie & Felicia, I'm not one to go to the tavern, but some friends wanted to hang out after a concert we'd all been at, and that's where we ended up.

Bob, that idea is spectacular. I vote for a refrigerator theme for a future theme day so you can still use this perfect vision! And, yes, that shooter in the back does really make the photo. That's Irwin for you, always keeping things lively. His buddy is just behind him also shooting. I'm sure the brews improved the guys' aim a lot. :-)

Thanks Kim - didn't realize that not all of the photo could be seen on the blog. When I went to your flickr page, there was the rest of the photo! And I see the sign. Goodness, I thought I was going insane. :)
